Early Symptoms of Lung Cancer

Early Symptoms of Lung Cancer

In the early stages, lung cancer may not show obvious symptoms, or the symptoms might be similar to those of other common illnesses, making it easy to overlook.

1. Persistent Cough

A persistent cough, especially in non-smokers, may be an early sign of lung cancer. The cough can gradually worsen and may be accompanied by phlegm or blood.

2. Shortness of Breath

Lung cancer can affect the normal function of the lungs, causing shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.

3. Chest Pain or Discomfort

Lung cancer may lead to pain or discomfort in the chest wall or within the chest cavity.

4. Difficulty Swallowing

When lung cancer affects nearby structures, it can cause difficulty swallowing.

5. Headaches

Lung cancer can spread through the bloodstream to other parts of the body, including the brain, leading to headaches.

6. Unexplained Weight Loss

Unexplained weight loss may be a symptom of lung cancer.
