Early Symptoms of Myocardial Infarction (Heart Attack)


Chest Pain

The most typical symptom is a feeling of pressure or severe pain in the chest, usually behind the breastbone. This pain can radiate to the left shoulder, arm, neck, jaw, or upper abdomen.

Shortness of Breath

Feeling short of breath or having difficulty breathing, especially after activity or at rest.

Nausea and Vomiting

Nausea and vomiting can accompany a heart attack and may be related to heart problems.

Rapid or Irregular Heartbeat

An increased heart rate or irregular heartbeat, sometimes referred to as palpitations.

Chest Pain with High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure may occur during a heart attack.

Upper Abdominal Pain

In some cases, heart attack symptoms may present as upper abdominal pain, which can be mistaken for a stomach issue.

Individual Variations

It is important to note that heart attack symptoms can vary from person to person, and not all patients will experience all of the above symptoms. Some heart attacks may occur without clear warning signs, known as silent heart attacks.
