Four Common Diseases for People Aged 55-75

Cardiovascular Disease

According to statistics, the incidence of cardiovascular disease in middle-aged and elderly people increases significantly after the age of 60, reaching 39%. It is especially dangerous for people over 50, with an elevated risk of sudden death if a myocardial infarction occurs. If persistent chest pain, chest tightness, and cold sweat appear after long periods of stress, smoking, or emotional agitation, medical attention should be sought immediately to avoid serious consequences.

Fractures

In China, approximately 370,000 fractures due to osteoporosis occur annually among people over 50 years old, with the rate of fractures increasing sharply after the age of 60. Osteoporosis is linked to factors such as an unbalanced diet and lack of sunlight, which increase bone fragility and the risk of fractures. Therefore, individuals around 50 who experience back pain, knee weakness, or instability after minor activity may be showing early signs of osteoporosis.

Alzheimer's Disease

About 7% of people over 60 are affected by Alzheimer's disease, meaning 7 out of every 100 elderly people may suffer from it. The incidence doubles with age, reaching 10% at age 65 and over 30% at age 80.

Diabetes

Diabetes is a chronic metabolic disease that, if not properly controlled, increases the risk of complications such as heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and retinopathy.
