01. Blood Pressure: Around 120/80 mmHg
Blood pressure is a crucial indicator of heart function and vascular health. Prolonged high blood pressure or poorly controlled blood pressure can lead to left ventricular hypertrophy. This condition causes a decline in left ventricular function, potentially leading to left heart failure, known as hypertensive heart disease or heart failure.
The normal range for blood pressure is a systolic pressure between 90-140 mmHg and a diastolic pressure between 60-90 mmHg. However, increasing evidence suggests that the ideal normal blood pressure is around 120/80 mmHg.
02. Heart Rate: 60-80 Beats Per Minute
Heart rate refers to the number of times the heart beats per minute in a resting state. For healthy adults, a normal resting heart rate ranges from 60 to 100 beats per minute. Older individuals tend to have a slower heart rate, while women and children have a faster rate. In children under 3 years old, a healthy heart rate is often over 100 beats per minute.
People who engage in heavy physical labor or athletes generally have a slower heart rate, typically around 50 beats per minute. Studies suggest that a slower resting heart rate is associated with longer life expectancy. For example, adults with a resting heart rate around 60 beats per minute may live up to 93 years, assuming no other health issues. If the resting heart rate is around 70 beats per minute, life expectancy can be about 80 years. However, a resting heart rate over 80 beats per minute may shorten life expectancy.
