Signs of Premature Birth

Abnormal Discharge

Many expectant mothers experience increased discharge due to hormonal changes during pregnancy, which may lead to some unexpected situations being overlooked.

Normal discharge is mostly clear mucus. However, if there is a continuous flow of clear, watery discharge (which could indicate early water breakage), or if the discharge becomes darker in color or shows significant bleeding (which could be a sign of placenta previa or placental abruption), premature birth cannot be ruled out. It is recommended to seek medical attention promptly.

Regular Contractions

During the mid to late stages of pregnancy, expectant mothers may sometimes feel their abdomen tightening, but it usually returns to normal after rest, which is considered occasional uterine contractions.

However, if the contractions are persistent, occurring every 5-10 minutes, and do not ease with rest, medical attention should be sought immediately to diagnose if there is a tendency for premature birth and to determine the necessary measures for fetal protection. If expectant mothers experience any of these conditions during pregnancy, they should not panic but should seek medical help immediately.
