If you are healthy, it is recommended that you keep your daily cholesterol intake under 300mg. If you have cardiovascular disease, diabetes, or high LDL (bad cholesterol), you should limit it to 200mg per day. One large egg contains about 213mg of cholesterol, all of which is in the yolk. Therefore, if you eat an egg on a given day, you should try to limit or avoid cholesterol intake for the rest of the day.
If you enjoy eating eggs but want to keep your cholesterol levels in check, you can eat egg whites, as they contain no cholesterol.
